Head coach Damir Buric held a press conference ahead of the trip to Turkey for a winter training camp.
"The first part of our winter preparations in Split was succesful. The weather was fine and the tests were good. Now we have an insight into the individual condition of each of the players and the team's form. In Turkey we will show our potential. We are going to talk a lot and I believe that we are going to have a positive atmosphere".
The coach took 28 players to Belek.
"The team is good and stabile and we can expect to play a successful second half of the season. Arteaga just came from Palermo and we now have different possibilities in case of any injuries. Velez is a great player and person, he already fit in with the team. He is the kind of the player that we wanted to have and it was a great success of our Sports director to bring him to Hajduk" said Buric.
"We were searching among Croatian players to find a proper player for Hajduk and we decided that Mastelic and Prskalo will join the first team. This winter transfer window is successful for us. Although some are saying that we brought too many foreigners, the team will nevertheless keep relying on our young players. There are some great talents in our Youth Academy and I hope that soon we are going to have more good players in the first team. The public is a bit impatient, even more than we are. We were now searching for the players that will reinforce the team and we found such players so we can now wait for our young players to develop properly and it would be easier for them to learn from good players".
"What about Kalinic" asked the journalists.
"Lovre is a professional. I'm not surprised that he had such an offer but the situation did not go well. He will show his potential once again in Hajduk. Who knows what can happen next summer but I know that Lovre will be even better. He is a great person and player".
"What is the current situation with Vlasic and Ohandza who are injured?"
"Vlasic is now better. Once he joins the team, he will be at 100% right away. He has all of the characterictics of a modern player. Ohandza is making a progress, his recovery process is taking time but there are good signs about his condition".
"There are two friendlies ahead of you, against Ferencvaros and Wisla?"
"We act at each training practice as if it is a friendly match. We had such trainings that we played a lot and it is our preferable kind of training. In my opinion, it is enough to play two matches in Turkey".
