"I am pleased and happy because of the arrival to Hajduk."
It was the first reaction of Ante Roguljić after he signed a year-long contract with Hajduk, represented by the sports manager Goran Vučević.
Roguljić came on loan from Red Bull Salzburg.
"It was easy decision. Anyone born in Split, and being the life-long Hajduk fan dreams about playing in Hajduk's jersey some day. It was my dream, too, and now it came true," said Roguljić.
In spite of his age, a 19-year old player has the first team experience, because he played for Red Bull Salzburg, and until now he was on loan in Austrian second division member Liefering.
Arriving in Hajduk bring new challenges, and new step in his career.
"I am coming with the strong motivation and ambition to secure my position with Coach Damir Burić, of whom I heard many good things. I want to contribute to make Hajduk better team. I saw the new season draft, and can't wait for derby against Dinamo in Zagreb. I'd like we would show right away that this season will be more successful then the previous one.
Some familiar faces are awaiting Roguljić in Hajduk. There are many players he was playing with in younger Hajduk selections.
"This is great, we are all very keen to prove ourselves, and to advance. I played previously with Bašić, Grbić, Vlašić, Balić, Maloku, etc. It won't be any problem to fit in this team, I can't wait for my first match in Hajduk," said Ante Roguljić.
"Ante Roguljić is a young player, only 19 years old. He is talented, and has a huge potential, which is the main reason why we signed him. Another important thing is that he is the Hajduk's child, born in Split, and he feels about Hajduk as his club," sports manager Goran Vučević said to hajduk.hr.
Ante Roguljić was born on March 11, 1996. As a child he played in Omladinac from Vranjic, later on in Adriatic from Split, and then moved to Austria.
He is standard Croatia's first team member. Ante was the best scorer in U17 team lead by Coach Ivan Gudelj, and captain in U19 team with Zoran Vulić as a coach. He played alongside Ivo Grbić, Josip Bašić, Andrija Balić and Nikola Vlašić in the last European Championship qualifications.
"We are proud we have added Ante Roguljić to our jewels Andrija Balić and Nikola Vlašić. We believe Hajduk will be recognizable in the new season as a team relying strongly on our young talents," said Goran Vučević.
