Just before the Croatian Cup final kick-off, a meeting was held between club representatives and various Hajduk Supporter Societies. An agreement was reached and signed this time between Hajduk and twelve of the Societies whose representatives attended Poljud this Wednesday.
Supporter Societies have been active since the very beginnings of our club. After the end of World War One, membership rose from a few dozen to hundreds of members, active in the club's proceedings. Hajduk has over the years not always given just attention to its members, however it is hoped that this Agreement restores their rightful place. Supporter Societies are formally defined as partners to the Club, and their primary function across Croatia and abroad is to continually promote Hajduk's name and reputation in their local communities and so to increase memberships.
The signatories today included Supporter Societies Drinovci-Grude, Garčin, Đakovo, Metković, Osijek, Primošten, Šibenik, Slano, Ston, Slavonski Brod, Tribunj and Mostar. Representatives from the Sisak, Požega, Makarska, Kupres, Feričanci, Dubrovnik and Brač Societies accept the Agreement but were unable to attend today. Their signatures can be expected by the end of the month. In Tivat and Rijeka they must first regulate their legal status as Societies before they can sign the agreement, while the jury is still out in the Orahovica Society. The Society from Zagreb has expressed disagreement and thus cooperation with them is likely to end soon, while Societies from Mali Lošinj, Poreč, Vinišće, Virovitica and Davor have been inactive for some time.
The Membership Department with its new Head Jasenko Ljubica will continue to work together with all Hajduk members and their societies to implement common goals, that is strenghtening the societies and their ties to the club both in Croatia and abroad. We hereby offer full support for this agenda and everything done to bring it about.
