On this day, 90 years ago, the premiere of the operetta The Queen of ball was held in Split. A great composer from Split, Ivo Tijardovic, dedicated it to Hajduk for its 15th birthday, which makes Hajduk the only club in the world that has its own operetta.

The success of Hajduk in 1926 prompted then young composer Ivo Tijardovic to compose the  song ''To nje ni knedla'' that became very popular in his hometown and then the whole of Dalmatia and the state. As that year the 15th anniversary of the foundation of Hajduk was celebratedbrothers Fabjan and Luka Kaliterna influenced Tijardovic to write and compose the operetta inspired by sports life and called it The Queen of ball.

The premiere was held at Stari Plac stadium on August 21, 1926 on an improvised stage with a rich decoration and luxurious lighting for that times.

With this operetta Hajduk enrolled in the list of the few sports clubs not only in our country but also in the world, to which someone dedicated a musical composition. Few club can boast with it and be proud of something like that.

It should be noted that in the period between August 21 and September 21, 1926, The Queen of ball  was performed 6 times at Stari plac, and then on December 14, 1926 in the Croatian National Theatre Split. Later on, it has never been staged, although there have been some attempts in 1971.
