Recently, there has been an increasing media and public interest with regards to the business measures that HNK Hajduk Split management intends to take during the Covid 19 pandemic. The Covid-19 has with no doubt influenced our entire society and sports in general, primarily affecting its essence, that is, sports competition, and consequently the sports industry.
As much as the consequent problems in the sports industry are present and obvious and for some of the clubs possibly dramatic, HNK Hajduk Split believes that at this moment the primary concern of all clubs should be focused on everyone's health, first and foremost of all public service employees on the front line of the fight with the pandemic and of all our citizens, including football players, employees and fans of each club.
The extent of the financial damage caused by the virus, which will undoubtedly happen, can only be determined at a time when we will have a clearer picture of the course and effect of the pandemic, including the course of football competitions in Croatia. Accordingly, with such approach we will also be able to adopt fact-based measures and, as a result, be as fair as possible to all those who will be affected by it.
With regards to the activities undertaken by various clubs in Croatia and across Europe, we note that the business policies of the clubs towards players and employees differ significantly from club to club, and it is impossible to integrate them all into one universal solution. The management of HNK Hajduk Split monitors the development of the situation, bearing in mind the fundamental task of preserving the functionality and financial stability of the Club and will certainly take timely measures to this end, while ensuring that these decisions are balanced and as fair as possible to all, including the players and employees of the Club. The public will be informed of all decisions in a timely manner.
