Hajduk's first team has concluded their 13-days long winter training camp in Turkish Belek.
In Turkey, they played three international friendly matches and won each one of them. In the first match against Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Joan Carillo's team won 2:0, while in the next one, against Slovakia champion AS Trencic, Hajduk won 4:2. Their last match before the return to Split was against Macedonia champion and current leaders of Macedonian league, FK Vardar. Thanks to Franck Ohandza's goal, Hajduk won 1:0 for their third victory in Turkey and thus concluded the Turkish part of their mid-season preparations successfully.
In three matches, Hajduk scored 7 goals and conceded two only. Strikers were particularly motivated, Ohandza and Said scored two goals each, while Marko Futacs, Nikola Vlasic and Josip Juranovic added one goal each. Said was the best in assists as he participated three goals, Hamza had two assists, while Fran Tudor and Juranovic had one assist each.
Head coach Carrillo and his coaching team Xavier Collom, Vik Lalic and Matyas Czuczi based the training sessions on improving technical-tactical part of the game as well as ball possession. They insisted on details and in the end, Carillo congratulated his team on working hard and adopting tasks all along their mid-season preparations that have been lasted for 4 weeks already. Each one of 28 players put a lot of effort and committment into training. Goalkeeper coach Tihomir Bulat was in charge of three goalkeepers Dante Stipica, Ivo Grbic and Karlo Letica. Strength and conditioning coaches Mario Tomljanovic, Tea Beslija and Jakov Previsic were in charge of their fitness.
Four weeks of training have passed, the last two on a training camp in Turkey and Hajduk is now starting the final preparation stage in Split. The players got two days off (Sunday and Monday), on Tuesday they will again have two training sessions. Before the first official match in 2017, the City derby against RNK Sšlit on February 19, 2017, they will play a friendly match against NK Dugopolje.
