Marko Futacs, this season's top scorer of Hajduk, played a great match against Inter Zapresic. The no.9 striker had scored as many as four goals to Inter for the best possible farewell from Poljud for this season, and Hajduk's fans have awarded him with applause and ovations when he was substituted in the 76th minute. More than deserved, but Futacs didn't want to point out his efficiency, for him, it's the team that's the most important.

"I think I played a better match against Rijeka, at least from my point of view. We played well, fought to the very end and I want to thank the teammates who helped me to score four goals. I dedicate these goals to them".

Marko is currently the leading scorer of the MAXtv First League with 16 goals scored, but this fact is not a burden for him.

"That's great, but I'm not under pressure because of it. It's important that the team wins. I'm not burdened by the fact that for 25 years Hajduk has not had the top scorer in the league. I play for Hajduk and I live for Hajduk. I love these supporters and I feel really happy".

The injuries at the beginning of the season prevented him from being even more efficient, but Futacs nevertheless scored as many as 19 goals for Hajduk in all competitions in the season 2016/17.

"I didn't expect to be at this place at the start of the season. It was difficult, injuries slowed me from getting back to the field. I went step by step and that was the key. First I practiced, then I played ten minutes, then half an hour and scored the first goal. It was a long process, it was not easy and I'm happy for being able to achieve this position where I'm today".
