In the 69th minute of the match at Rujevica, match referee Igor Pajac consulted assistant referee Fran Jovic, after which he awarded a penalty for Rijeka. Hajduk squad was protesting, they believed there was no foul for penalty, while young goalkeeper Karlo Letica started to fully concentrate on how to save a penalty, he took a deep breath and fantastically saved his goal from Marijo Gavranovic's penalty kick. Gavranovic couldn't surprise the flying Letica, who saved Hajduk's one goal advantage.
"Half of this was a dream, I can't believe what happened, I'm still thrilled. Patience and work have led to this, nothing else. I was trying to stay calm and anticipate the side. That's how I defend penalties and it was the right way" said Karlo, visibly excited after the game, delighted with victory and his great saves.
Defender Petar Bosancic, who entered the game in the 76th minute, also helped the teammates save Hajduk's goal and win at Rujevica.
"The match itself was difficult, the weather was strange. It was really windy, it helped us in the first half, but then helped Rijeka in the second, luckily, we scored at the opening of the second half thanks to Erceg. The coach's idea was to strengthen the defense in the last 20 minutes, to keep these 2:1 and that's what I've contributed to. I'm happy because we managed to win in the end".
