In only three days, Hajduk won two importanrt away matches. The first one took place on Wednesday at Gradski vrt in Osijek where Hajduk and Osijek played the Cup quarter-final match and qualified further to the semi-finals, while on Saturday evening, they played a championship match against the last season's champion Rijeka at Rujevica and won 2:1.

After the match in Rijeka, coach Zeljko Kopic said:

"Great victory, we've done everything to keep the team mentally strong, and today we've rounded up a fantastic job we've done so far. We knew what to expect from Rijeka, we aimed at being dangerous from the transition, Rijeka caused us some problems in the second half, but our goalkeeper saved a penalty, which was followed by some other situations that proved that we had the right approach to the match and that our win is well deserved".

"It was my fault that I was sent off, I reacted with too much temper, but I didn't offend anyone. I admit that the way I reacted was my fault. We have three great goalkeepers, apart from Dante Stipica and Letica, there is also our young goalkeeper Grbic and all three of them are real strength that we have! Dante is the first goalkeeper and the two younger ones are very perspective and Letica was great tonight" concluded Kopic.
