Poljud has recently turned into a construction site, as numerous infrastructure projects are in progress, all in order to provide the players, coaches, Youth Academy players and match audience with the best conditions for working and staying at the stadium.

With the support of Brodosplit d.d., up to now, Hajduk has completely renovated 18 of 24 toilettes that have been completely renewed. Also, a new Youth Academy dressing room has been set up for the Academy's needs. There are currently ongoing works on the ambulance that will serve the Academy and the area around it, two training pitches for the young teams are under construction, the classroom for the youngest players will get completely reorganized...

There are also a number of minor interventions that should increase the functionality of Poljud stadium. Hajduk's Head of property, equipment and technique maintenance Ante Kokan told us more about the expected deadlines for the completion of infrastructure works and when the new premises should be ready.

"The main works are currently being run on two training pitches for the Academy and Open School, the Academy ambulance and office space, we are reorganizing the classroom for the Academy, and we have already put in place a new kit room for younger generations, and a hospitality part with the lounge area for nutritionist service and Academy coaches" says Kokan.

In the last two years, approximately HRK 20 million have been invested in infrastructure projects at the stadium.

"Certain things are already done and in function, the works I have just mentioned are in progress, and some of them are just about to start. Considerable resources have been invested in reconstruction of main and training pitches, from new drainage and pitch watering systems to new turf. In the near future we want to adapt the space next to the gym and the temporary ambulance for the Academy for the purpose of the Department of Analytics and Rehabilitation, and make a special room for physiotherapists. Along with all of this, we have done a whole series of smaller interventions that one can't notice from the outside. From the demolition of the walls and the repositioning of storage facilities, the setting up of new watering pumps that have not been changed since 1979, and the installation of metal roofs and the repair of the rainwater gutters.

At the end, he discovered when we can expect the completion of already started projects.

"It is planned that the new training ground will be completed by the end of April, and the ambulance should be functional by mid-April this year," Kokan concluded.
